PROSPERITY — This past week the Prosperity Ponytail Allstar team competed in the District Four tournament, held in Branchville, against six other teams.
The tournament was from June 16 until June 20. On Saturday, June 16 the Prosperity team started the tournament off by beating the Edisto Allstars 11-0. Four Prosperity Allstar pitchers combined to throw a one hitter in the win. On Sunday, June 17 the team took on Batesburg-Leesville Allstars and won by a final of 15-1. In this game four Prosperity pitchers also combined to throw a one hitter. On Monday, June 18 the Prosperity Allstars beat the Gaston Allstars 19-0 with four Prosperity pitchers combining for a no hitter. After the victory against Gaston the Prosperity Allstars were the only undefeated team left in the tournament. On Tuesday, June 19 the girls stayed undefeated by defeating Edisto for the second time 9-3. In the victory the Prosperity team had three pitchers combine for a two hitter. On Wednesday, June 20 the Prosperity Allstars clinched the District Four Championship by beating Batesburg-Leesville by the score of 11-1. Four Prosperity pitchers combined to throw a one hitter in the win.
The Prosperity Ponytails Allstar team is made up of girls 12 and under. The girls will be traveling to Seneca to play in the State tournament July 6-July 12.
