WAGENER — The Lady Wolverines softball team traveled to Wagener-Salley on Saturday for the second game of the playoffs.

The Lady Wolverines came away with a 23-12 win. The win puts the Lady Wolverines in the drivers seat in the division. Defensively, the Wolverines struggled at times to find outs. The Wolverines committed three errors on the day.

Kimberly Kendrick was the winning pitcher. Barrett Martin came in to pitch in the third inning and did not allow a run the rest of the way. At the plate the Wolverines were led by Kaylynn Roche, Selena Plaza, Angela Cody and Caylee Ellison. Roche was two for two with five runs scored, three BB, one triple and five RBI. Plaza was two for four with one run scored, one sac bunt and three RBI. Cody was 0-1 with two runs scored and four BB. Ellison was one for three with four runs scored, two BB and two RBI.

The Lady Wolverines also opened district playoffs with a 13-1 win over Great Falls Thursday night.
