CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Newberry College track and field teams saw multiple athletes finish in the top 10 of day two of the South Atlantic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship.

Freshman D’Arion Johnston headed the pack, bringing home the third place medal in the triple jump. Johnston picked up six points for Newberry in the triple jump with her leap of 11.32 meters. Cassie Poulard would also finish big, placing sixth in the 100 meter hurdles.

Edward Collins also impressed for Newberry with his performance in the 110 meter hurdles. He advanced to the finals off of a seventh place cease in the preliminaries on Thursday. Collins would continue his streak, coming in fourth, just shy of the third place honor. Other successful finishes on the day belonged to Marzell Jackson, who came in fifth in the men’s triple jump.

Sophomore James Glenn would come alive for the Wolves, taking home the fifth place finish in the 200 meter dash. Glenn would also join teammates Justin Oglesby and Jorge Hernandez and Granger Garrison in the 4×400 meter relay. The joint team would slide into the seventh place spot, finishing well ahead of Wingate, who would place eighth in the event.

On the final day of the South Atlantic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship multiple Wolves placed in the top 10.
