Women’s tennis maintains spot on Oracle/ITA national rankings

TEMPE, Ariz. — Newberry’s women’s tennis team moved to the No. 39 spot in the Oracle/ITA Division II Women’s Team National rankings, marking the fifth straight week the Wolves have been included in the rankings.

The Wolves are 21-6 overall and 7-3 in the South Atlantic Conference including a nail biting 5-4 win against Lincoln Memorial in the quarterfinal round of the SAC Tennis Championship.

Including Newberry, three other members of the SAC are nationally ranked. Wingate moved up eight spots to No. 12, Tusculum is four paces behind at No. 16, and Queens sits three spots ahead of the Wolves at No. 36.

The rankings list the top 50 schools in the nation and will be released weekly until May.
