JV Rebels fall to Chapman

INMAN — Mid-Carolina Rebels JV baseball team stayed in it until the end, but Chapman pulled away late in an 11-6 victory on Tuesday.

Despite the loss, the Rebels did collect five hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Chapman had seven hits on the way to victory.

Chapman evened things up at six in the bottom of the third inning. Number seven singled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs.

Number six was the winning pitcher for Chapman. He surrendered six runs on four hits over two and two-thirds innings. Number four and number 10 entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Preston Bookman took the loss for Mid-Carolina.

Hayes Waites started the game for Mid-Carolina. He went three innings, allowing six runs on four hits and striking out one.

Darian Bookman went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Mid-Carolina in hits.
