CLINTON — Mid-Carolina Rebels Varsity defeated Clinton 8-0 on Friday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Wesley Livingston induced a ground out from number two to finish off the game.
Mid-Carolina got things started in the first inning when Hunter Clinton grounded out, scoring one run.
Mid-Carolina tallied four runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught by the Rebels was led by Bryce Medlock, Cade Ruff and Jack Lominick, all knocking in runs in the inning.
Jeb Fulmer led the Rebels to victory on the pitcher’s mound. He allowed three hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out four and walking one. Livingston threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Thomas Hellams took the loss for Clinton. He allowed five hits and five runs over five innings, striking out seven.
Mid-Carolina tallied nine hits in the game. Ruff, Jalen Bates-Caldwell and Medlock each racked up multiple hits for the Rebels. Medlock, Bates-Caldwell and Ruff each collected two hits to lead the team. Bennett Sease made the most plays with seven.
