Wolves fall to Queens

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — An unrelenting offense from Queens caused issues for the Wolves in a 22-3 loss at Dickson Field Wednesday.

Helen Kuhn put the Wolves on the board with the help of Sophie Moore to knot the contest at one apiece in the opening 50 seconds of the frame. Newberry would not find the net again until 2:49 left in the first stanza with Naomi Killian scoring and the assist going to Alexis Kahler. The Royals barraged Newberry during the opening half to take a 17-2 advantage heading into intermission.

A lone goal from Moore at the 14:26 mark would be the Wolves only score of the second half. Queens poured on five goals in the latter frame to come away with the 22-3 win.
