TEMPE, Ariz. – Newberry’s women’s tennis team moved up six spots to take the No. 39 spot in the Oracle/ITA Division II Women’s Team National rankings.
The Wolves are 18-4 overall and 5-1 in the South Atlantic Conference including a 5-4 decision over then-No. 15 Florida Southern. The win marked the program’s first victory over a nationally-ranked team.
Including Newberry, three other members of the SAC are nationally ranked. Tusculum is No. 13, Wingate is No. 21 and Queens sits at No. 37.
The rankings list the top 50 schools in the nation and will be released weekly until May.
The Wolves moved up six spots to rank at No. 39.
