WHITMIRE — The Whitmire Wolverines baseball team defeated Ware Shoals 7-2 in a non-region contest. Justin Brannon (2-0) was the winning pitcher. Brannon went a season-high 6.0 innings, giving up one ER.
The Wolverines were led by the first five batters who went a combined 10 for 17. Casey Stevens was three for four with three RBI. Bailey Holloman was two for four with three RBI. Carson Gaffney (two for three) and Brannon (two for two, Sac) also had big night.
“Justin did exactly what we needed him to do. He does a great job of throwing strikes. The offense seems to be clicking at the right time. We are looking forward the opportunities of the next couple of weeks,” said Head Coach Chris Martin.
