Men’s basketball hosts Battle at the Border camp

NEWBERRY – Newberry’s men’s basketball program welcomes student-athletes for its annual Battle at the Border camp in June. The camp is designed to improve skills and promote the enjoyment of varsity, junior varsity, and middle school basketball with both upper (5A/4A/3A) and lower (2A/1A) varsity leagues being offered at the camp.

The boys’ camp will take place June 11-13 while the girls’ portion will run June 14-15. Teams will play in at least four games per day.

Costs include $300 per team per day without meals. Overnight campers for one-night, two-days, and three meals is $125 per camper, while two-night, three-day, and six meals is $185. Fee includes air-conditioned residence halls, all meals and a camp T-shirt.

Campers should bring gym clothes for three days, basketball shoes, socks, pillow, pillow case, blanket, sheets (twin beds), towels/toiletries, swimsuit, medicine and spending money.

Make checks payable to Battle at the Border Team Camp and mail to head coach Dave Davis, 1413 Griffith Park, Newberry, S.C. 29108. A $50 deposit per camper should be given to their respective head coach. Turn in all checks and team info to coaches by Friday, April 20.

Newberry will also be conducting a pair of three-day boys’ team camps at Catawba College in Salisbury, N.C. June 26-28 and June 29-July 1 if interested.
