Field Hockey garners 17 on Zag/NFHCA DII National Academic Squad

GILBERT, Ariz. — The Newberry College Field Hockey team had 17 student-athletes named to the 2017 Zag Field Hockey/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division II National Academic Squad with two student-athletes obtaining this honor all four years of their college careers.

The Division II National Academic Squad programs recognizes student-athletes that have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2017-20018 academic year. There were over 415 student-athletes representing 30 institutions with East Stroudsburg University leading with a total of 24 honorees.

Dakota Elzy and Olivia Fraunfelter were the two Wolves who have earned this honor all four years playing field hockey at Newberry. These two seniors represented Newberry in addition to 15 others.
