GREENEVILLE, Tenn. — The Wolves have finished Day One of their first three-round tournament of the season in second place at the 2018 Agnes McAmis Memorial Women’s Golf Tournament.

Newberry concluded their Day One play 12 strokes off the pace set by Shorter at 57 over par, good for second among the seven teams in attendance. The Wolves’ team score is 633 with finishes of 314 and 319 in Rounds One and Two respectively.

With three in the top 10 and four in the top 20, Newberry’s efforts were led by sophomore Johana Lunackova. Lunackova started off in a tie for third place after the first round and finished the day in sole possession of second. She carded a 76 in each round to finish eight over par on the day for a total of 152, four shots behind Shorter’s Dallas Vaughn.

Taylor Lance improved two spots to place herself among the top 10, finishing ninth. Her Round One and Two scores were both 79, putting her total at 158.

Nabila Inak’s rounds saw her land in the final spot in the top 10 with a 159. During Round One Inak paced a 77 and finished Round Two at 82, going 15 over par.

Aubrey Guyton landed herself in a tie for 13th with a pair of 82 scores to equal 164 for the day. Brette Bryant finished 23rd going 86 and 87 through the respective rounds.

Newberry had two golfers to hit birdies, Lunackova with three and Guyton with two.
