Lady Wolverines fall to Red Devils, Hornets

WHITMIRE — The Lady Wolverines traveled to Clinton Wednesday for a non-region game, Clinton walked away with a 12- 5 win. The Wolverines committed six errors that led directly to the Red Devils scoring 12 runs. The Wolverines jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning, but could not generate any more runs until the fifth inning. At the plate the Wolverines were led by Kymberlee Jenkins and Taylor Peay. Jenkins was 1-3 with a double, one run scored, and one RBI. Peay was 1-2 on the night with one run scored and a BB.

The Lady Wolverines also hosted Ware Shoals on Tuesday night with the Hornets walking away with the 12-0 win. The loss dropped the Wolverines to 1-2 in region play for the year.

According to Coach Andrew Campbell, defensively the Wolverines made too many mistakes that cost the game. Leading hitters for the game were Kymberlee Jenkins and Caylee Ellison. Jenkins was one for two with a double. Ellison was one for one with a single and BB.
