WHITMIRE — The Varsity Baseball team won a two-night game by a score of 9-2 over Ware Shoals. The game began on Tuesday, but was suspended due to rain with Whitmire up 2-0 in the Top of the third. The Wolverines returned on Wednesday and took the Region 1-A contest. Carson Gaffney (2-0) was the winning pitcher throwing six innings and giving up 0 ER. Chase Hood closed it out in the seventh inning.
Chase Hood was also the leading hitter going two for three with a 2B and 2 RBI.
Whitmire improves to 5-4, 1-1 in the Region.
The Wolverines will host Mid-Carolina on Thursday in a JV/Varsity doubleheader. Game times are 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
