VALDOSTA, Ga. — Newberry finished round one of the 2018 Southeastern Tournament in fourth place at five under for the day.

The Wolves are competing against 17 other teams including host Valdosta State on the Kinderlou Forest Golf Course.

Ahead of Newberry in the standings were West Florida (-11), Lander University (-9) and Rollins College (-6).

Carlos Leandro has carried over his success into the start of the 2018 Southeastern. He is currently tied for eighth at three under with a 69-total score.

Ben Thompson and Spencer Skiff are two Wolves who are tied with each other in 20th place. The pair finished the day going one under while finishing the day with a 71.

An even par at 72 was the final for Rob Cull.

Newberry’s final competitor was Harry Bolton who is tied for 43 posted two over at 74.

After day two of competition, Newberry finished the second round tied for the lead at the Southeastern with top-ranked West Florida at four strokes over par.

The Wolves currently hold the eighth spot in the Bushnell Golfweek Division II Coaches Poll released on March 9.

At the conclusion of Round One the Wolves stand in the top five.
