WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Keiser’s smothering first half offense disrupted the Wolves and created opportunities for the Seahawks in the 22-4 defeat Wednesday afternoon.
Freshman Sophie Moore continued her scoring streak putting the Wolves up 1-0 in the opening two minutes off the assist from Savannah Ohliger. Both Rachel Dillon and Moore have scored at least one goal in every game this season.
Thirty seconds later Dillon would find the net to make it a 2-0 game in the opening minutes.
Keiser answered by scoring 12 straight to take the double-figure advantage in the first half. Ohliger would find the net with six minutes remaining in the half to make it 12-3 heading into the break.
Shots proved to be the difference maker with Keiser racking up 33 compared to nine from the Wolves. Twenty-one of the Seahawks’ shots would come during the opening half.
Newberry was outscored in several statistical categories including shots on goal, ground balls and draw controls.
The Seahawks continued to dominate in the second stanza garnering eight goals compared to one for Newberry. The Wolves’ lone goal came off of a free position shot from Maegan Williams, marking her sixth goal of the season. Brandy Bowman battled in the net collecting seven saves in the contest.
