HILTON HEAD — The Wolves dominated both doubles and singles competition to nab the 8-1 win over York in Hilton Head.

Newberry opened doubles play with an 8-1 victory in the No. 1 spot from Jose Navarro and Angel Pizarro. The Wolves grabbed a pair of decisions with No. 3 Alex Amble and Alexander Hahn wrapping up doubles with the 8-3 edge to give Newberry a 3-0 lead.

In singles, No. 1 Edison Ambarzumjan kicked off the afternoon with a 6-4, 6-1 win to continue the Wolves winning ways. Navarro then put up a victory in the No. 2 spot securing a 6-0, 6-1 decision. Senior Jordan Monosky helped finish off the match with the 6-0, 6-0 sweep.

York picked up their lone win in a three-set match between Hahn and Tyler Richard with Hahn falling just short 3-6, 7-6, 6-10.

Monday afternoon the Wolves would also clinch a 9-0 win over Salem University.
