MARS HILL, N.C. — Five consecutive victories during singles competition propelled the Wolves to a 7-2 win over conference foe Mars Hill in their first South Atlantic Conference match of the spring season.

No. 1 Edison Ambarzumjan began the streak with a 6-2, 7-6 decision that was quickly followed up by a three-set nail biter in which No. 2 Jose Navarro came out on top 0-6, 6-4, 6-1. No. 3 Angel Pizarro and No. 4 Jordan Monosky each had two-set victories at 6-1, 6-0 and 6-3, 6-2, respectively. The fifth win came from No. 5 Alex Amble with the 6-1, 6-2 decision.

Doubles play also favored the Wolves with No. 1 Ambarzumjan and Navarro winning out 8-5 followed by an 8-1 decision from No. 2 Monosky and Pizarro.

No. 3 Alex Amble and Alexander Hahn fell to their Mars Hill counterparts to make it 2-1 to end doubles action.
