NEWBERRY — After capturing their second consecutive regional championship and their sixth title in nine years under head coach Melissa Mendenhall…the Newberry High Lady Bulldogs are aiming to head into the playoffs next week with one loss since January 1 on their resume.

On their senior night…the Lady Bulldogs saw their 19th consecutive regional victory after their 70-32 victory over Chapman to improve to 17-3 on the season.

Newberry’s Rayanna Davis had more points in the first half by herself…19…than the Lady Panthers combined to score as a team in those first 16 minutes…12.

If leading by 30 points at the half was not any indication that the six seniors were easily going to enjoy their final regular season home game in the Scott Gym…eight minutes later, Newberry went into the fourth quarter with a 41-point advantage…63-22.

Davis had an evening high 22 points, while Kelsey Felks, who was the only Lady Bulldog to score in each quarter, finished with 16 points.

Zacharia Epps scored all of her 11 points between the second and third quarters, while Rehgan Miller and Lindsey Ruff finished with eight and seven points respectively.

Making her seasonal debut due to an injury, Kelsey Havird hit her trademark three-pointer, while CC Corley also scored her first three-pointer of the season to round out the Newberry scoring.
