JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — Newberry made an appearance in the two-day ETSU Buccaneer Invitational event, where multiple Wolves competed.

On the men’s side, Granger Garrison took part in the 200 meter dash and finished just one second shy of 24 minutes. In the men’s distance medley, Caleb Bouwkamp, Justin Oglesby, Jorge Hernandez and Quinn Wilson came in 14th with a time of 11:23. Quinn Wilson fell into the 31st-place spot after finishing the 5000 meter run in a little over 22 minutes.

In session four of the Buccaneer Invitational, Kayshon Mitchell had the best finish for Newberry, recording 13.73 meters in the weight throw event. Marzell Jackson, Tyrese Grant and Devon Fluellen all participated in the long jump event for the Wolves. In flight one Jackson and Grant both placed in the top three, but overall scaled down the ladder board after missing their respective distance in the contest.

For the women, freshman Cassie Poulard followed the pack in the 200 meter dash, but came in at the 66th-place mark in a little over 28 minutes.
