Lady Bulldogs now 14-3

NEWBERRY — For the first time this regional season the Newberry High Lady Bulldogs trailed an opponent during the course of a game.

While Woodruff had leads of both 2-0 and 10-8 Tuesday evening in the Scott Gym, Newberry ended the first quarter on an 11-0 run to pick up their 16th consecutive regional win with their 64-47 victory.

The Lady Bulldogs’ magical number is “2” with four games left in the regular season to claim their second consecutive regional title.

Newberry led by 19 points after both the second and third quarters.

Kelsey Felks scored 11 of her evening-high 24 points in the first quarter.

Rehgan Miller connected on five three-pointers to finish with 15 points, while Zacharia Epps scored 12 points in the first three quarters.

Lindsey Ruff and Rayanna Davis had six points apiece, while the Newberry scoring ended with the lone point of CC Corley.
