INMAN — The top-ranked in 3A Newberry High Lady Bulldogs easily recovered from a last-second loss to Irmo last week with a 58-point win Tuesday evening at Chapman.
The victory was Newberry’s 14th consecutive regional win of at least 24 points.
Newberry held the Lady Panthers to single digits in each quarter, as the advantage of having a 13-to-nine ratio on players aided in the visitors constantly keeping fresh bodies on the court throughout the evening.
Rayanna Davis got all 22 of her points in the first three quarters…including 10 of them in the first quarter alone.
After going the entire first half with just two free-throws to her credit…Rayanna Davis hit five three-pointers in the second half to end with 17 points.
Kielsey Felks and Zacharia Epps were the only Lady Bulldogs to score in each of the four quarters as they finished with 15 and 14 points respectively.
Lindsey Ruff (eight), Titanna Garrison (six), and Diamond Davis’ three points rounded out the Newberry (12-3) scoring.
