DUE WEST — The Lady Wolverines traveled to Due West to take on the Lady Hornets of Dixie this weekend and were able to get the victory. They improved their record to 6-4 on the season and 5-0 in region play.
“The girls came out and hit some early shots and played really good defensively to limit the opportunities for Dixie. The girls also did a good job of moving the ball to find open shots and knock them down. The second quarter we got a little lazy on both ends of the floor, but were able to end the half on a nice feed inside and finish,” said Head Coach Chaz Adams. “The second half saw some good passing and good takes to the rim by the Lady Wolverines, which allowed us to extend our lead and put the game out of reach.”
The Lady Wolverines were led in scoring by Jazmine Curenton with nine points. She was followed by Hailee Robbins with six, Raegan Kendrick five, Alexus Sanders and Kaylynn Roche four, and Samantha Strubeck and Chelsea Goggins two.
Roche led the team in rebounding with seven. She was followed by Taylor Peay with five, Strubeck and Raegan four, Jordyn Brooks three, Sanders two and Robbins/ Goggins/Deja Livingston one.
The team had 21 steals, 10 assists and seven blocks.
