SUNSET BEACH, N.C. — Newberry’s women’s golf was ranked 11th after the first round of competition at the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate.

The Wolves shot a combined 324 putting them 36 over par. Newberry trailed 10th place Columbus State by six strokes and was 24 behind first-place Tusculum. Wingate, Lenoir-Rhyne, West Georgia, and Queens rounded out the top five teams in the 17-team tournament.

Nabila Inak ended the day tied for 12th with a five-over score of 77. She shot a pair of birdies on the 12th and 17th hole. Johana Lunackova tied for 27th with seven strokes over par while Aubrey Guyton was tied for 49th with a score of 82.

Taylor Lance shot 14 over par while Brette Bryant rounded out the competition tied for 75th.

The tournament concluded Tuesday.
