NEWBERRY — Newberry College women’s tennis senior Elizabeth Williamson was named a College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District At-Large selection.

The honor is the second of her career after being named as an At-Large selection last season. Williamson, a senior from Catnerbury, New Zealand, has a 3.96 GPA in biology. She now advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot.

Williamson was recognized by CoSIDA as all-district performer in District 3, which comprises of the South Atlantic Conference, Conference Carolinas, and the Peach Belt Conference.

The senior finished 20-2 overall this season in singles action, 10-1 in the South Atlantic Conference. She won 12 straight singles matches to begin the season. Williamson finished 19-4 in doubles matches, notching a 9-2 mark in SAC action. She also won 12 straight doubles matches from Feb. 10-March 24.

She was named first team all-SAC in singles and doubles play and a two-time SAC AstroTurf Player of the Week this season.
