CHAPIN — The Mid-Carolina High School Rebels visited Chapin High School on March 22 and came away with a 5-3 victory.

Pitching for the Rebels were Cade Ruff (two innings), John Steven Trammell (four innings), and Wesley Livingston pitching the last inning. Trammell was the winning pitcher with Preston Farmer handling the catching duties. MCHS pitching held Chapin to just six hits.

Leading hitters for the Rebels were Corey Stone with two while Ruff, Hunter Clinton, Drew Cromer, Jack Lominick, Farmer and Trammell each had one, for a total of eight hits.

Chapin’s pitchers struck out seven batters, hit two, and gave up four walks.

On March 24, the Rebels traveled to Chapman High School, north of Spartanburg. The Rebels defeated Chapman by a score of 4-1. The winning pitcher was Corey Stone, who pitched all seven innings, giving up only three hits, striking out six, while walking four.

The Rebels scored a run in the second, fourth, fifth, and sixth innings. Drew Cromer scored two, while Cade Ruff and John Steven Trammell scored one each. Leading hitters were Cromer and Trammell with two hits each. The team had a total of five strikeouts.

The Rebels overall record is are 4-1, and 3-0 for the region.
