NEWBERRY — Newberry is ranked eighth in Super Region Two and 18th nationally in the latest polls released by D2Wrestle.com.

Newberry has seven wrestlers appear in the top eight of their weight class regionally and has three grapplers appear in the individual national rankings.

The Wolves fell one spot in the national rankings after falling to stiff competition in the NCWA National Duals but winning a thrilling dual over Ouachita Baptist last Thursday.

Trung Duong is currently ranked eighth in Division II in the 125-pound weight class, along with Jordan Simpson at 133 pounds. Huston Evans moves up a spot to number seven in the 174-pound weight class. The trio is ranked second, third, and fourth, respectively, in their weight classes in the Super Region Two rankings.

Cody Brundage is fifth in Super Region Two at the 184-pound weight class. Tyler Wicken checks in at seventh at 141 pounds as well as Austin Palmer at 149 pounds. Nick Young holds on to eighth in the 165-pound weight class to give Newberry seven regionally ranked wrestlers.
