The Grow Newberry Farmers Market kicked off this Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. If you missed it, fret not, for we will be open each Saturday in June and July in Memorial Park in downtown Newberry from 9:00 until 11:30 a.m. Local growers and crafters will be present with produce, eggs, baked goods, boiled peanuts, plants and flowers, arts and crafts, soaps, and meats on select dates. If you want to be a vendor, contact us for available space. Sometimes, our home gardens are so fruitful that we are not sure what to do with the extras, and the Market offers a “backyard gardeners” section for these occasions. Bring your card table, sale items, and five dollars for a space. We want to thank AgSouth for providing a grant to help with advertising this year for the Grow Newberry Farmers Market.

Join me June 5 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chamber conference room to get to know about the Chamber and how we can work with you and your business. There are lots of opportunities to be involved in your Chamber and community, and we can help you find the right fit.

Sponsored by Half Full and WKDK, Business After Hours will be held on June 13 from 5:30-7 p.m. at Half Full in downtown Newberry. All current and prospective Chamber members are welcome to join us for food, beverages, and networking.

In collaboration with the Greater Chapin Chamber of Commerce, we will host a Business Expo at the Mid-Carolina Club on June 14 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Join us to meet the folks who do business in the area and the services available. There is a $100 charge for vendors who are members of either Chamber. For potential members, there is a charge of $150. The event is free to attendees.

To showcase some of the produce and meats grown right here in the county, we will hold a Farm to Table Dinner on June 21 at The PD Johnson Farm in Newberry. Tickets are on sale for $75 and are limited to 100, so contact us to reserve your spot. This dinner kicks off the second annual Ag + Art Tour of Newberry County that will be held the weekend of June 23 and 24 at select farm sites. We look forward to hosting these events to introduce residents and visitors to a few of the agricultural offerings of our county.
