The Newberry County Young Professionals held a summer outing on Lake Murray this month. They will host their quarterly meeting on July 10, then for nostalgia’s sake, enjoy a game of kickball. Follow them on Facebook at NewberryYP for all upcoming events.

The Ag + Art Tour of 2018 was a success. We thank The Newberry Observer for covering the event and publishing photos from each site! The billboard for the event was sponsored by the City of Newberry. The cow image is a quilt pattern by local quilter Mitzie Schafer.

The Grow Newberry Farmers Market will continue each Saturday in Memorial Park in downtown Newberry from 9-11:30 a.m. through the end of July. Come out for fresh and local produce and meats, baked goods from vendors like The Farmer’s Wife, and hand crafted items from Kendyl Griffith

Half Full Coffee & Wine and WKDK hosted the June Business After Hours at Half Full in downtown Newberry. The next Business After Hours will be held on July 17 at Enoree River Winery from 5:30-7:00 p.m. This networking event will be sponsored by Self Regional Healthcare.

For the second year, we co-hosted a Business Expo with the Greater Chapin Chamber. Attendees were able to meet business vendors who offer their services and support in the Newberry and/or Chapin area.

Alicia Holbrook and family cut the ribbon for their new farm store at Carolina Pride Pastures this month. This popular alpaca farm now has a permanent place for their merchandise. A nesting ball is one of the many unique items that can be found in the new store.
