Bob Jones University

GREENVILLE — Emily Walker of Newberry was among approximately 860 Bob Jones University students named to the Spring 2017 Dean’s List. The Dean’s List recognizes students who earn a 3.00-3.74 grade point average during the semester.

CHARLESTON — The Citadel’s South Carolina Corps of Cadets received degrees on May 6, 2017 in McAlister Field House.

Andrew Bedenbaugh of Prosperity graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration; Alex Cole of Newberry graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; and Sloan Hazel of Newberry graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

CHARLESTON — Joshua Bowman of Little Mountain was awarded The Lt. Col. Harvey M. Dick Official United States Army Sword this year at The Citadel’s Awards Convocation held May 4.

The award is presented annually by the Society of the Sons of the American Revolution to the most outstanding cadet being commissioned in the U.S. Army. The sword is awarded in recognition of the superior academic and leadership skills which the recipient has demonstrated during four years as a cadet.
