A commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War was held Aug. 9 at the American Legion Post 24. Vietnam veteran David Parnell, director of Newberry County Veterans Affairs, held a ceremony and read a proclamation from the president. In addition to this, a copy of the proclamation, a lapel pin and several assorted stickers were given to all Vietnam veterans. Shown are Claude T.
