COLUMBIA — The National Weather Service has completed its service assessment of forecast performance for the historic flood event that occurred in South Carolina from Oct. 1 through Oct. 5, 2015.
The agency commonly conducts service assessments after significant weather-related events to better protect life and property by implementing recommendations and best practices that improve Weather Service products and services.

The report summarizes the meteorology of the flood event, discusses impacts, and includes the team’s findings, recommendations and the best practices they found.
