NEWBERRY — The fourth annual Ruth S. Pugh Foundation Golf Tournament was held on May 29 at the Newberry Country Club.

This tournament was held in honor of Bill Braswell, board member for the Newberry County Disabilities and Special Needs Board. The tournament is the main fundraising event held each year to support individuals with disabilities and special needs served by the Newberry DSN Board.

The tournament hosted 23 teams and surpassed the goal set from the previous year’s tournament with the combined efforts from participants and community contributions/donations. A silent auction was also held in conjunction with the tournament.

The first place team was Bob Hartness, Rudie Tarver, Jonathan Stevens and Bill Floyd. The second place team was Kim West, Mary Willingham, Will Eckstein and Check Wideman. The third place team was Tommy Suber, Fred Harmon, Howard Kirkegard and Phil Livingston.

The fifth annual Ruth S. Pugh Foundation Golf Tournament has already been scheduled for May 13, 2016.
