• 6 p.m.: Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church in Chapin holds an evening prayer service. The place of Advent will be from Persia to Nazareth. Dinner is at 6:30 p.m.

• 5 p.m.: Pomaria Lutheran Church, 210 Folk St. in Pomaria, holds a Christmas Eve Festival Service with Holy Communion.
• Noon: Grace Lutheran, 210 Grace St. in Prosperity, holds a quiet communion, family and children’s service at 6:30 p.m. and a candlelight communion at 10:30 p.m. with the adult choir, Wightman-Grace Handbell Choir and concert violinist.
Revivals/Meetings/Other Events
• Brown Chapel A.M.E. Church, 1279 Brown Chapel Church Road in Newberry, holds its annual Christmas Community Outreach Dinner from noon to 3 p.m. Dec. 12 to help the sick and shut-ins, homeless and less fortunate. Each church is asked to send a representative with a list of those needing assistance. Donations can be mailed to 2606 Pine St., Newberry. • Aveleigh Presbyterian Church, 1211 Calhoun St. in Newberry, holds worship services at 9:15 a.m. in the sanctuary immediately followed at 10:30 a.m. by Sunday School. Aveleigh Worship Center service begins at 11:30 a.m. in Truesdell Hall (gym).
• Bethel Missionary Baptist Church of Cross Hill holds intercessory prayer and Bible study at 7 p.m. Tuesdays, mid-week services at 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays and worship service every Sunday beginning with Sunday school at 10 a.m. and worship service beginning at 11:15 a.m.

• New Hope Baptist Church on S.C. 121 in Newberry has Sunday school at 10 a.m. and worship at 10:45 a.m. except the fifth Sunday. Bible study is on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
• St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 1605 Main Street, holds its Sunday service at 10:30 a.m. with music and communion. Adult education will resume in September. Weekly service on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Springfield Place.
• St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 4056 St. Luke’s Church Road, has worship services at 10:30 a.m. beginning June 7. Sunday School will begin at 9:30 a.m.
• Sweet Springs A.M.E. Church, 20502 U.S. 76 in Newberry, holds worship service at noon the first and third Sunday of each month.
