NEWBERRY — Lowe’s Home Improvement of Newberry recently worked with the Newberry Disabilities and Special Needs Board for their Lowe’s Heroes Project.

Volunteers from Lowe’s planted maple trees, installed a swing set and permanent volleyball net, and replaced mulch at the agency’s PRIDE Park. Store employees and agency staff worked in a steady rain to complete the work at the park.

Lowe’s began the project to build partnerships within the community. The park is used by individuals with disabilities and special needs supported by the agency, and is also available to rent for community activities and events.

“PRIDE” represents the mission of the agency — People Realizing Individual Dreams and Expectations. The efforts of the Lowe’s Heroes will enhance activities and events offered by the agency, and will also continue to build community relationships.
