PROSPERITY — Newberry County Coroner Laura Kneece has identified Betty Stuck, 86, of Newberry, as the victim of a single car collision that took place on Nov. 8.

According to Trooper Joe Hovis, with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Stuck was travelling on Count Sausage Road in a 2002 Chevrolet Pickup at around 1 p.m. According to Hovis, Stuck ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree.

An autopsy was performed on November 9, according to Kneece, it was determined that Stuck died of blunt force trauma. She further stated that it appears Stuck was not wearing her seat-belt properly.

This incident remains under investigation of the Newberry County Coroner’s Office and South Carolina Highway Patrol.
