NEWBERRY — Gov. Henry McMaster will headline state Rep. Rick Martin’s annual Constituent Supper later this month.

“We could not be more excited to welcome Gov. McMaster back to our community for food and fellowship,” said Martin. “He is a true public servant, a supporter of limited government, a friend to the people of Newberry, and we are honored to have him.”

This will be the third consecutive year Martin has held the event, which brings together supporters and special guests to discuss politics over a complimentary meal. Last year, the event was headlined by U.S. Rep. Jeff Duncan, who represents western Newberry County in Congress. In 2017, U.S. Rep. Ralph Norman and South Carolina House Speaker Jay Lucas were the featured guests.

“This event is always a great opportunity to thank our supporters and constituents for all they’ve done the past year,” Martin said. “It gives us a chance to catch up, enjoy fellowship and discuss the issues that matter to our community.”

The event will be held Oct. 15 at 5:30 p.m. at the Newberry County Shrine Club, 196 Shrine Club Rd., Newberry. Admission is free, but attendees are asked to RSVP via email at RickMartinforSC@gmail.com, at (803) 321-0495, or via the Facebook event page. Seating is limited.
