NEWBERRY COUNTY — South Carolina Treasurer Curtis Loftis stopped by Newberry this week to promote the Unclaimed Property Program through his office.
According to treasurer.sc.gov, “millions of dollars are transferred to the Unclaimed Property Program each year by companies that cannot locate the owners. Individuals, estates, businesses and even churches and charities can have unclaimed property. It only takes a minute to find out if we are holding money for you.”
During his visit, Loftis stopped by Newberry County offices and The Newberry Observer where he presented information on how much they have in unclaimed property.
Loftis said there were millions of dollars waiting to be claimed by South Carolina residents, and encourages everyone in Newberry County to check and see if their name is on the list. To do so, just use the link below and click “search for unclaimed property” and type in your name. If you see your name or business, just click the claim button and follow the instructions.
