PROSPERITY — On March 4 and 5, the Mid-Carolina Middle School Academic Team traveled to Clinton High School to compete in the WPEC Regional Academic Bowl. On March 4, they defeated Brewer Middle and Northside Middle and defeated Clinton Middle School by one point with a score of 27-26 in the semi-finals to return to the finals.

In the finals, MCMS competed again against Clinton and won by a score of 32-26. The team will compete at the state academic bowl on March 29 in Rock Hill.

The following MCMS students made up the Academic Team: Katy Mae Crooks, Kendellin Haltiwanger, Emma Stuck, Rachel Redd, Madelyn Coker, Jack Gantt, Micah Schafer, David VanZadelhoff, Maya Williams, Ryan Crooks, Campbell Stuck and Serenity Richburg.

They are coached by Janna Richardson and Kristin Caughman.
