NEWBERRY — The Newberry Campus of Piedmont Technical College will mark Black History Month throughout February with a series of events that are free and open to the public.

Feb. 4-28 – Test Your Knowledge – All Students, faculty and staff can submit answers to the daily trivia questions on Black History for a chance to win a prize.

Feb 19 – Book Signing — Piedmont Technical College’s own Joshua L. Lindsay, Dean of Business, Information and Public Service will be signing his book “You Were Raised Better Than That.” The book explores the decision making process of children when faced with everyday situations. 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. in the Lobby.

Feb 21 – Policing Matters — Today’s political climate has raised questions and concerns regarding the relationship between law enforcement and the community. “Policing Matters” is a roundtable Q&A session designed to share your thoughts, concerns, etc. On the panel, will be representatives from Newberry City and County Law Enforcement, Piedmont Technical College Law Enforcement and criminal justice instructors. This session will be held in the Auditorium (100NN) from 12:45-1:35 p.m. Moderators are Lisa Toland, dean of Off-Campus and Steve Coleman, director of Genesis Initiatives.
