NEWBERRY — Bennie Lee Stoudemire, 59, has been charged with burglary in the first degree and petit larceny after he broke into a South Main Street property in Prosperity on Thursday.
Prosperity Police Chief Harry Bodiford said at approximately 10 p.m. on Thursday Stoudemire entered the South Main Street property to deprive the owner of property. Stoudemire fled the scene after being seen inside the residence by a witness.
Stoudemire wad taken into custody on Friday with the assistance of the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office and State Law Enforcement Division. Stoudemire is currently detained at the Newberry County Detention Center.
