Seibert joins NCSO as Deputy

NEWBERRY — Sheriff Lee Foster and the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office welcomes Gary Seibert Jr. to the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office.

Seibert completed the 12 week basic law enforcement training on July 13, and will now begin his field training with the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office. Before his training at the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy, Seibert worked at the Newberry County Detention Center.

Seibert is a lifelong resident of Newberry County and was born, raised and still makes his home in the Prosperity section of the county. He is a graduate of Mid-Carolina High School. He is an active member of the Lake Murray Rescue Squad and Fairview Fire Department. He has served with those departments for about 23 years and is an Emergency Medical Technician. Seibert was also a combat medic with the South Carolina Army National Guard.

He has been married for eight years and has one son. His immediate family still makes their home in the Prosperity area as well.
