NEWBERRY — All of the students in the Newberry County Career Center Nurse Aide program scored a 100 percent pass rate on the S.C. State Certification Exam administered on May 16 and 17. They are now qualified to seek employment as a CNA in a health care facility.

The students are 2018 graduates of the three area high schools. They have attended NCCC for the past two years majoring in Health Science as part of their desire to learn more about careers and practices in health care. Each student completed 12 weeks of clinical at the White Oak Manor Nursing Facility during the course of the 2017-18 school year. They all have made plans to pursue postsecondary education in the health care field.

Six students also completed the 2018 S.C. Pharmacy Technician students who completed their classroom curriculum and their internship at a local pharmacy during the 2017-2018 school year.

Tamirria Cannon (Mid-Carolina High School), Yamilet Hernandez (Newberry High School),Gennifer Altimarano (Newberry High School), Jada Blackmon (Newberry High School), Ta’Ojha Davis (Newberry High School) and Sara Martinez (Newberry High School) are all now registered to work in the state of South Carolina as Registered Pharmacy Technicians.
