NEWBERRY – Newberry City Council passed the first reading of the fiscal year 2018-19 budget Tuesday night, balanced at $66,751,454. No amendments were made to the budget following previous budget work sessions.

Duncan is the 3A State Champion in the 3200 meter for the third year in a row and the State Champion in the 1600 meter. Newberry Academy’s McCallum Senn (center) was recognized by council for being the South Carolina Independent School Association (SCISA)’s state champion in the 3200 meter.
