PROSPERITY — Glenn Hamm, on behalf of the Newberry County Transportation Committee, addressed Council on where the committee is currently and what they are looking for over the next two years.

“We’ve got a couple current projects that we are working on, the big one that everyone is aware of is the sidewalk project,” said Hamm.

Hamm informed Council that during the Newberry County Transportation Committee meeting Tuesday, funding was approved for the resurfacing of Williams Wood in Prosperity.

“Newberry County brought that up as a recommendation to the CTC, we’re working with state Department of Transportation to address roadway needs. One of the things we discussed today was working with our municipalities in our areas to build a vision of what 2020 is going to look like,” he said.

Hamm added they are currently working on a short term plan for needs, having discussions with the City of Newberry, Whitmire, Pomaria and the Town of Little Mountain.
