Reunion coming next month

POMARIA — Mayor Darryl Hentz informed Pomaria Town Council that ant treatment will need to be performed around the Old Pomaria School before the annual Reunion in May. Hentz also gave a run down of this year’s activities.

“We are going to have a steak dinner and the committee, along with the citizens involved, are going to put it on,” he said.

There will be live entertainment both Friday and Saturday in addition to the parade.

In other business, Hentz informed Council that the town sign on Peak Road has gone missing. He also mentioned the True to the Brew Trail Run/Hike will be April 21. Two hundred participants will run/hike the 6.5 mile trail starting in Pomaria at the entrance of the Palmetto Trail behind Wilson’s Grocery 5941 US-176 and end at the Broad River trestle.

Vans will be available to transport runners, participants are encouraged to bring a canned good to go to the Pomaria Food Bank. Councilman Billy Fanning suggested that emergency personnel be on site the day of the run.

Other business:

• The beginning balance for the month of March was $2,033.46. As of March 31, the ending balance is $4,473.03. Expenditures for the month totaled at $2,152.94 and revenue brought in a total of $4,592.51.
