UPDATE: The individual that was barricaded in a home on Silas Street was taken into custody by a team of SLED Agents, City Police Officers, and Sheriff’s Deputies.
NEWBERRY — The Newberry Police Department and Newberry County Sheriff’s Office are dealing with a suicidal individual who has barricaded himself inside a home on Silas Street in the City of Newberry. Those in the area are asked to remain inside and all others are asked to avoid the area.
