NEWBERRY — Newberry County Water and Sewer Authority Assistant Manager Daniel Quattlebaum informed the Board that, as of Thursday, the process of starting the pre-construction conference for the Newberry Shores/Bedford Way Flow Diversion project has begun. The pre-construction conference is scheduled for March 26, 2018.

“The contractor is on his 300 day construction contract and then we will actively be constructing the Newberry Shores/Bedford Way Flow Diversion. Believe it or not, this came on the radar in March of 2014, but we’re excited about it,” Quattlebaum said.

In other business, NCWSA Manager Brent Richardson presented the Construction and Operation Report to the Board.

Richardson reported that the Lake Murray Water Treatment Plant is running well and that the replacement lab equipment will be ordered in March and April of 2018. He said that the old mobile laboratory will also be relocated to NCWSA’s Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Water distribution for the month of February reported one main line break at Bel Ivy Road. One new sewer service was installed.

The wastewater collection department reported no main line breaks for the month. Pump station repairs include Bedford Way (installed a new two Hp pump). The Georgia Pacific sewer flow meter will be replaced in March and one new sewer service was installed this month.
