NEWBERRY — Spend a weekend with friends rocking out to your favorite 70s/80s music and enjoying a large variety of craft beers in Downtown Newberry while supporting the revitalization of the historic downtown.

Groove ‘N Brewfest is a street festival featuring an outdoor stage with local bands, 20 regional craft beers, food trucks, vintage cars and memorabilia. Two headliner bands, Rumours ATL and Heartbreaker, the premier Fleetwood Mac and Heart tribute bands will play inside the Ritz Theatre (additional ticket required). Festival-goers are encouraged to dress in 70s/80s costume to participate in costume and Karaoke contests with prizes to be awarded to winners. The festival will be held on Main Street in Downtown Newberry on Saturday, April 7 from 1-10 p.m.

Groove ‘N Brewfest is intended as a fundraiser for the Newberry Downtown Development Association (NDDA) to create a pool of funding for economic development grants. The east end of Main Street has the potential to anchor economic development just as the Opera House did for the west end of Main Street. NDDA proposes that it is time for the community to come together to help usher in the next revitalization phase of downtown Newberry.

The street festival and outdoor entertainment at the Groove ‘N Brewfest is free. A cover charge of five dollars includes an over-21 wrist-band (pending an ID check) and a commemorative cup. Beer may only be served in the commemorative cup.
