NEWBERRY — The Newberry Chapter of the Woodmen of the Word held a public safety appreciation supper on Nov. 14 at the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office.

Before the meal, Rep. Rick Martin presented the members of the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office, with 20 or more years of service, with a certificate from the House of Representatives honoring their service and longevity.

“This is such an honor for all of us,” said Sheriff Lee Foster. “We are so grateful to the Woodmen of the World for their continuing support of public safety in Newberry County and to Representative Martin for taking time from his schedule to honor those who have dedicated their lives to public service.”

“We are so blessed to live and work in a community environment in which public safety is still respected for their hard, unselfish work,” Foster continued. “It would be impossible for us to accomplish the high standard of service that the people of Newberry County enjoy without the support, cooperation and prayers of the people of this great county.”
